Senior-Level Position | 3+ years of experience | Chicago, IL
The Senior Carrier Sales Representative will be responsible for booking freight and managing Carrier Relationships. This position will focus on matching freight with approved carriers, negotiating rates and overseeing shipments from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quality working relationships with transportation providers by using various means of communication to provide the best equipment at the best rates.
- Make customer service the top priority by providing customers with the highest level of service possible.
- Strategically match available carrier partner equipment to every available customer load.
- Track all booked loads from the point the carrier is contracted through final delivery of the load.
- Negotiate rates with transportation providers at the best possible rate while maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Prospect carriers to further develop the carrier base.
- Review carrier credentials to ensure they meet compliance requirements.
- Send rate confirmations to carriers that document all requirements and verify receipt.
- Identify and communicate ways’ company can continuously improve in its operations through a sales process which result in additional sales revenues.
- Serve as a Mentor to other Carrier Sales Representatives.
Experience and Benefits:
- 3+ years’ experience in Carrier Sales.
- Pricing/Negotiation Knowledge.
- Domestic 3PL Experience.
- FTL Experience (Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed).
- Existing Relationships with Regional and National Carriers.
- Leadership qualities to mentor and train new carrier representatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree a PLUS.
- This position offers a Competitive Base Salary + Commission
